Our room feels better

Recently my husband and I booked what both of us thought was an amazing hotel for 2 nights. We booked it based on its good reviews and reasonable prices compared to other hotels. It had to be around 8 p.m. when we checked in which was kind of late, but that was not a problem. Upon arrival, we were told we had been upgraded to a superior room, and my partner surprised me by proposing that our upgrade have a lovely view of the town skyline just like the photos we saw online. That said, that view actually turned out to be blocked by construction. Nonetheless, our supper reservations were at 9 p.m., so we didn’t really have time to request another room since we were in a rush. The good part was that the supper was amazing, but once the next afternoon arrived, when I got up to turn on the heat in our room I found that it had never been on…ever. It was a chore to walk in our bathroom and feel the ice cold floor underneath my feet since it had no kind of heating whatsoever. I talked to the front desk about the lack of heating before we left for sightseeing, hoping our issue would be fixed upon our return. It was around 5 p.m. when both of us returned to a freezing room with air vents still blowing freezing air even after the front desk said it would only take a few minutes to fix. It was incredible uncomfortable having staff in our room servicing the heater as my husband and I got ready. It was all such a mess that the only solution they could offer us was a plug-in heater. The audacity of this place!
