It had become one of those really lazy days when all I had to do was sit around and wait for the mail. It was an awfully long day to say much. I had a week sick from work, and I really had no motivation for anything but sitting on a couch. I was waiting for some important mail, so hopefully if it came soon it would give myself some motivation. About mid-way through the morning, I heard a strange banging noise through my air conditioner. I didn’t think too much of it at first, but I noticed that there was no longer cool air pushing it’s way through the ductwork or vents. I slowly got up to examine the thermostat. Maybe my thermostat would give me a clue about what was going on with this air conditioner. No such luck for me. The thermostat didn’t reveal anything to shape the current temperature, which was at this point 89 degrees! I made a quick phone call to my HVAC business in town to request an HVAC technician to come out in the future and inspect my air conditioner. By this time I was sweating profusely, but I was honestly grateful for something to be done. I waited patiently for the HVAC serviceman to show up. I tried to fan myself with a piece of cardboard while I waited, but my little makeshift “cooling system” did not work too well. Eventually the HVAC technician showed up and went to work on it. He found a small issue with the compressor, but with a few twists or so to a wrench he had it fixed in no time. By the time he finished his work, I noticed it was almost 5 pm. At least the air conditioner was working again!
