Merely week after I had purchased my new refrigerator, I woke up at dawn to find water covering my kitchen floor. I knew immediately that the water had to be leaking from the hose on my ice maker. The first thing I did was turn off the running water, then I called the organization who had installed the fridge. I used my shop vac to suck up most of the water. The guy came out and reattached the hose, and everything returned to normal. A few days later on, I noticed more water on to the floor. Again, I had to call the refrigerator people, and I was starting to wonder if I had purchased a bad model. I was thinking of exchanging it for a newer model. However, when the guy came out, he said that there was no water from the refrigerator. He took a peek around and noticed that there was a wet area right on the wall. It turned out that water was coming from my own air conditioner. I had to phone the HVAC company. When my HVAC technician arrived, he found that there had been a big clog that needed to be cleaned out. I think some form of rodent started building a nest contained in the air conditioner. It was no big deal to refurbish the air conditioner, but there were so many problems for my walls, and my hardwood floor. This was a hard pill to swallow. I should haven’t neglected my routine HVAC maintenance this year. It would have saved me a ton of money in home repairs.
