I know I need to put the work in

I was only twenty when I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  I had no idea it was such a common disease.  Unfortunately, even though a lot of people have fibromyalgia, even the health profession is lacking of information about it.  They aren’t sure what happens to the body when you have fibromyalgia.  It seems there are only two pin pointable symptoms.  One is chronic, uncontrolled, all over pain.  Most people develop a hypersensitivity to heat and cold.  The first thing my doctor recommended was that I make sure I have a good HVAC.  I remember how my sister suffered from extreme migraines.  She would lay in her bed, with the lights out, and just let the air conditioning wash over her.  I remember her saying how lights, sounds, and the heat just made it worse.  I have a friend who has been living with Multiple Sclerosis for about five years now.  She has the pain, and she suffers terribly.  She also said that with the use of heat and air conditioning, she finds a lessening of her discomfort.  She says the pain never truly goes away, but it makes it a bit more bearable.  It amazes me how different diseases require the same thing to ease their malady.  Heating and air conditioning is a commonality with these.  I wonder what those people who have to do without air conditioning, do to keep comfortable and ease their pain?  It’s not something I want to find out, and I admire the people who do their every day jobs and continue their lives.  I prefer to sit at home and relax with my HVAC.
