Band AC

I used to be in a band in middle school. My lake house was the place that all of us practiced too. My lake house used to be an ancient apartment house. That means that there are several doorways and lots of open spaces. My band would practice upstairs in what can only be a used for some storage space. It was a big enough room with lots of plugs and some windows. It was perfect to have a band, store guitars and plug in amplifiers. The issue was how hot  it would get in the months of summer. The amps, electronics and our body heat was an sweaty combination. Heat also rises and all of us couldn’t help but notice that. The windows were ancient and barely could stay open. So both of us had essentially nothing in terms of cooling down. We got a few box fans and I installed a small  window A/C units for upstairs. The cooling power was not easily impressive but, by the end of a jam session both of us all would be sweaty. Also having no central air conditioning was pretty bad for the equipment. We would get hot, but so would our drums, guitars and amps. It is not good  for amplifiers and electric instruments to get too hot while playing. We absolutely should have invested extra cash in an A/C. However my band was pretty young, So calling a Heating in addition to Air Conditioning supplier for A/C replacement was not on the list of priorities. I still play drums now that I have grown into a man. The first thing I did before I played was get A/C installed in my practice area. I now will never play without having a cooling system again.
