My husband and I had just had the time of our lives! We recently moved into our new home after our month-long honeymoon after having just got married. We were still in “La-la Land” and still subject to the surreal sentiments based on the highs we recently experienced, so thankfully we both had a couple more weeks off from work to settle down and get adjusted. I figured this transition phase would be a piece of cake because I absolutely adored my husband! I loved everything about him…except for one itty, bitty thing: his smoking habit. Little did I know, though, what I originally considered to be a minor matter became much more meaningful once we moved in together. I’m a realist, so I consider myself to be fair and more than well aware that nobody’s perfect. Each of us have our faults/flaws, myself included. Be that as it may, my hubby was a humongously headstrong person and didn’t take very kindly to being told when–or more practically, where–to calm his nerves. Consequently, he chose to smoke indoors…regularly! In order to resolve the matter, I knew we were gonna have to come to some sort of compromise. Therefore, I proposed (demanded) that if he were so set on his indoor smoking ways, we were gonna (have to) purchase an air purifier. Financially frugal, he was somewhat reluctant as first. Once I explained to him that the purification upgrade would be less expensive than the one that I initially, really wanted, he agreed. Within a week, I had an HVAC technician come out and set up a basic, ionic air purifier, adding it to our air handler unit (AHU) that was located where my dearly beloved husband should’ve been smoking all along: outside!
